Honourable Abdussamad Dasuki has on Wednesday launched six official vehicles and motorcycles for the day-to-day use of the Sokoto Internal Revenue Service (SoIRS).
At the event, he appreciated the Service for almost reaching the target of N2.5bn IGR set for them. “…for the month of January 2021, we’ve a target of N2.5bn, but the Service is able to bring N2.2bn”. he said “This is a huge milestone. By the time we report February, we expect near 100%”, he added.
The Honourable Commissioner for Finance Abdussamad Dasuki also appealed to Revenue Officers conduct themselves on the course of work. “You are here to render service, that is why it is called Revenue Service. You’re at tax-payer’s service. Avoid rancour or fight”, he strongly advised.
He added that the incentives of the Revenue Officers will be based on performance. “As you perform, you’ll be rewarded accordingly”, he said.
He also saluted His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, CFR for creating the smooth avenue and approving all the recommendations. “His Excellency has approved virtually all recommendations regarding the Service. He has done his own”, he said.
On his part, the Chairman Sokoto Internal Revenue Service, Alh. Aminu Sarki thanked the Honourable Commissioner for Finance for the support and freehand he gives the Service. “By February 2021, we shall report 100% target generation Insha Allah”, he affirmed. He was in the company of his capacity Permanent Secretary, Alh. Dahiru Abbas, Deputy Accountant General, Maccido Musa, Director Funds, Mutawallen Dange, and other officials.
