The Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Honourable Abdussamad Dasuki who doubles as the Chairman, Sokoto State Committee for the State’s Fiscal Transparency Accountability and Sustainability Program (for Results) hosted a dinner in honour of his team members who dedicated themselves to ensure Sokoto State emerged first and the overall winner in Nigeria.

At the dinner, praises were showered on the Executive Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, CFR for giving the team his commitment, free will, and all the necessary support it required throughout the last year. Hon. Dasuki stated “without His Excellency’s support and determination to drive Sokoto to the higher level, we wouldn’t have had a reason to celebrate today.”

Hon. Dasuki also assured all the members that God willing, the SFTAS Committee will continue to work day in day out to ensure the successes recorded in the last year will be consolidated. He stated “This win should be regarded as a challenge for us to do more. We shall continue to strive harder until we are able to double our successes.” He added that for more effectiveness, little modifications would take place on regards the committee.

He also thanked his Permanent Secretary, Alh. Dahiru Abbas, Accountant General, Deputy Accountant General, Maccido Musa, and all other team members for their commitment and dedication to the success of the program. He also thanked other partners such as consultants and banks for their supportive efforts. 

Hon. Dasuki did something extraordinary by calling on Mr. Bello Yartulluwa, the Generator Operator, further appreciated him and donated his three months salary to him. “This man would always be there before us and close after us, I hereby donate my three months full salary; January, February, and March to him. Perm Sec should take note”, he added.

Some of the people who thanked and appreciated the Honourable Commissioner’s efforts included Alh. Abubakar Goronyo, Regional Manager Zenith Bank and Alh. Aminu Bala Sokoto, the DDT and SFTAS Focal Person. The dinner which started with prayers by the Director of Salaries, Muhammad Bello Adamu also ended with prayers by al-Hafiz, Barr. Kabiru Hali.
